No, it isn't a sign of the Apocalypse or a venture into bizarre and uncharted realms of femi-nazism. What is W.A.R?
W.A.R. is simply a group of like-minded individuals seeking to celebrate and promote the increasingly important roles of women in the dark fiction genres, particularly horror. We hope to bring awareness that women are no more limited to romance and erotica than men are to action or noir novels.
We are wives, mothers, friends and sisters. Our lives are full and, despite the daily chaos, we enjoy showing our dark side on paper. We prefer romance in life as opposed to on paper. Most of us already have the men of our dreams and wonderful children. We are happy, content, and ambitious….
But…
We have a dark side that must come out. It is vivid and overwhelming when we are alone. Our hands rock the cradle, and when all are asleep, they are the hands that author worlds of dark creatures and horrific machinations. We are horror writers.
