Half Light :This amazing film created the bridge to Asian horror for many American horror fans. When it was released, Ring was one of the most original movies for that year. Rachel, played by Naomi Watts (King Kong, I Heart Huckabees), is an aggressive journalist who encounters a story that she may never survive to document. Rachel is a single mother and works as a reporter. Her son, Aiden, played by David Dorfman, is independent and mature beyond his age. Rachel's niece dies in a mysterious way that can't be explained. Ruthie, Rachel's sister, pleads with her to investigate what happened to her daughter. Rachel is hesitant, but eventually agrees to find the cause of her niece's death. She discovers that her niece and four of her friends died at the same time. She also discovers a secret weekend that started the madness one week earlier. She hears the rumors of a cursed videotape, but chalks it up to an urban legend. She finds her way to the cabin where her niece stayed and finds a mysterious tape. She watches it and finds the urban legend is not so fictional. She has seven days to figure out what is going on. The situation grows far worse when she finds her son has viewed the tape.
