Review: Constantine (2005)

This movie was created from a series of graphic novels (Hellblazer, DC Comics). John Constantine (Reeves) is on a mission that has consequences for all of humanity. He underwent a transformation early in his life and is capable of crossing the threshold of this world and hell.

His unique talents allow him work as a successful, and expedient, exorcist. He begins to notice there is far more evil entities manifesting than what is typical. He learns that the "door" separating the two worlds is coming apart.

Her sister's mysterious suicide brings Weisz into the plot and the two set out to discover what is getting ready to happen.

The movie has a good, strong plot and excellent pacing. The actors do a great job with their characters. This is a worthy movie of horror fans and is a great example of what amazing stories graphic novels can have.

Ghoulish Details:

This movie is a first of its kind and the staff did a fantastic job of transforming a graphic novel onto screen. The story plays upon a tale that has been in existence for millennia, but gives an original twist.
