  • Nosferatu, eine Symphonie des Grauens (1922) It was not credited, but Nosferatu was indeed based upon Bram Stoker's Dracula.
  • The Unknown (1927)- Based upon the story by Mary Roberts Rinehart titled K-Unknown or Novel K. Ms. Rinehart was not credited for her story.
  • The Man Who Laughs (1928)- This film was noted for it's outright creepy grinning character. It is based upon Victor Hugo's L'Homme Qui Rit.
