(Mothman Prophesies)

During the 1960s, West Virginia had a series of sightings from several towns. It was a creature the size of a man, but with no arms, and wings. He became known as the Mothman. Many sightings were reported throughout this decade, with the last official report being in 1966.

John Keel authored the book, The Mothman Prophesies, it also became a major motion picture starring Richard Gere and Debra Messing.

The majority of the sightings, as well as Keel’s work, occurs in Point Pleasant, West Virginia.
